Do you remember floppy disks? What about a CD? I don’t even own a device that takes either one of them. What would you do if your wedding or family pictures were stored this way and you wanted to see them today? What if they were damaged? If you had your prints in an album, it would take nothing to pull it off the shelf and show it off.
While having those digital files on a computer or USB sounds like a safe enough way to store your images, in reality, digital media of any kind will eventually become obsolete or corrupt with time. I mean, who knows what type of digital storage devices will come and go in the next few years? Let’s face it: most of us with a USB (or cell phone) full of images are not going to print them, despite our best intentions. Even the most put-together people procrastinate. By the time you think about it, the USB was lost or the computer crashed—oh no! On the flip side, a framed print or album will be there 50, 60, or even 100 years later for your great-great grandchildren to see.
Sure, digital files are fun to share with friends on social media (and I encourage that, too!), but your memories deserve to be printed and enjoyed for a lifetime, not just used as your Facebook profile picture for a few days.
A print is a tangible item
Flipping through a photo album in your hands is very different than scrolling on a computer or phone. A print on your desk or wall can bring you joy every time you pass it.
A print is a form of art
They can make your home a beautiful and warm space, full of life. They help tell your story, and those who visit your home can enjoy them, too.
A print is the final product
A digital file is only an ingredient, required for the final goal. It’s only half of the equation.
A print is a gift that keeps giving
It brings a smile to the faces of recipients, year after year. A digital file is just another computer file you might forget exists.
A print is timeless
It never goes out of style or becomes obsolete. Wouldn’t you love to have an heirloom print of your grandparents or parents at a younger age?
A print will last
Provided you print professionally, it will remain part of your family’s history for decades to come.
My duty as your photographer is to create and preserve precious memories for you—offering finished portraits you can hold in your hands that become family treasures in accurate, lasting colors. I take this quite seriously, and it brings me joy to see my work finished and enjoyed in frames, on walls, and in albums in my clients’ homes. I would be doing you a disservice to just hand you a USB of images and leave it to you to create the final product.
Along with albums, I offer many printing and framing choices to give you plenty of options. In fact, we include a high-res digital file with each image you purchase, so you can still share away to friends and family on social media.
As a professional photographer in Sweetwater, TX, I believe in and value the images I create for you, and I know that your prints and albums are a wise investment—today and forever.
xoxo,
Leslee
